Domaine Fontchêne: Les Antiques and Aupiho, four expressions of the Alpilles
Located in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Domaine Fontchêne produces lively and authentic wines based on biodynamic principles and entirely hand-harvested grapes.
Les Antiques Blanc combines Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Chardonnay. Aged on fine lees in vats, it balances roundness and freshness with notes of pear, candied citron, white fruits, and star anise. An ideal white to pair with fish, tapas, or goat cheeses.
Les Antiques Rouge, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Merlot, and Syrah, charms with its crisp fruit and supple tannins. Raspberry, blackcurrant, pepper, and a hint of thyme make for a delicious and refreshing red, perfect with a charcuterie board or grilled meats.
A more gastronomic wine, Aupiho Blanc brings together Roussanne, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, and Chardonnay. After twelve months of aging on fine lees in barrels, it reveals a full and balanced palate, marked by quince, dried apricot, white flowers, and hazelnut.
Aupiho Rouge blends Syrah, Merlot, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre. Its aging in barrels and demi-muids gives it depth and structure, with notes of strawberry, fig, licorice, Morello cherry, and black olive. A generous wine to accompany a fine cut of red meat.
Four complementary wines to discover the character of the Alpilles, from the immediate freshness of Les Antiques to the depth of the Aupiho cuvées.
