Green dram

Green Dram is a Japanese blended malt whisky produced by the Kuju distillery, located on the Kuju Plateau in Ōita Prefecture. Founded in 2021, the distillery draws inspiration from Scottish traditions, particularly those of the Speyside region, to create whiskies that reflect the natural beauty of its surroundings.

This whisky is the result of a harmonious blend of imported malts aged 4 to 10 years and Kuju's own distillate, aged for 2 years. Imported whiskies are repackaged and finished in the distillery's warehouses, thus benefiting from the local climate for their maturation.

On tasting, Green Dram reveals aromas of peach, pear, white grape, green apple, honey, light vanilla, and floral notes. On the palate, it offers malty flavors with hints of cocoa powder, baked apple, sweet spices, and poached pear drizzled with melted chocolate. The finish is marked by orchard fruits, woody spices, and chocolate.

Bottled at 46% ABV, Green Dram embodies the Kuju distillery's commitment to producing high-quality whiskies, blending international influences with Japanese character. It is recommended to enjoy it neat to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity, or with a small addition of water to reveal all its subtleties.
