Kumano Hinoki Cask Finish is a Japanese whisky produced by the Kishu Kumano distillery, located in the Kumano region, south of the Kii Peninsula. This blended malt is composed of a 3-year-old malt whisky and a new pot malt, which undergo an additional 6 months of maturation in hinoki wood casks, a Japanese cypress renowned for its distinctive aroma.

Hinoki, considered a sacred tree in Shintoism, imparts unique woody notes to the whisky. Kumano Hinoki Cask Finish is the world's first whisky to be aged in hinoki casks.

On tasting, this whisky displays a light golden hue. The nose offers fresh, malty aromas, while on the palate, it is smooth and refreshing, with specific woody notes imparted by the hinoki cask finish. The finish is marked by hints of honey and a pleasant lightness. Kumano Hinoki Cask Finish has an alcohol content of 40% and is available in 50cl bottles. It is recommended to enjoy it neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its subtle aromas.
