Newborn Setouchi Sherry Cask is a Japanese whisky produced by the SETOUCHI distillery, located in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture. Founded by Miyake Honten, a traditional sake brewery, this distillery is renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation. This single malt whisky was aged for two years in Oloroso sherry casks imported from Spain, benefiting from the temperate climate of the Seto Inland Sea to develop its aromatic profile.

On tasting, the Newborn Setouchi Sherry Cask presents rich aromas of dried fruit and woody notes, characteristic of its aging in sherry casks. On the palate, flavors of caramel, ripe fruit, and dark chocolate emerge, with a slight acidity on the finish, providing a touch of freshness. Despite its youth, this whisky offers surprising complexity and testifies to the potential of the SETOUCHI distillery.

Bottled at 47% ABV, this non-chill filtered whisky is available in a limited edition, with only 1,200 bottles released. It is recommended to enjoy it neat to fully appreciate its aromas, or with a small amount of water to soften its intensity.
